CAST Initiatives

• Complete the implementation of approved safety enhancements to achieve continual reduction of the commercial aviation fatal accident rate.
  
  
• Continue to monitor the effectiveness of the safety initiatives already implemented and to identify changing or emerging risks.
  
  
• Evolve beyond examining 'historic' accident data alone to a more proactive approach that focuses on risk prediction and mitigation strategies to identify safety threats before they result in accidents.
  
  
• CAST is undertaking an Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing initiative (ASIAS) activity to bring safety information from various sources together with analytical tools to achieve these objectives.
  
  
• Expand activities to reduce the aviation fatality rate worldwide.
